WEST HARROW UNDERGROUND STATION - HYDRAULIC SYNCHRONISED JACKING & PLATFORM LOWERING

30th November 2014

Hydra Capsule were awarded the project to install 32 number 50 tonnes hydraulic cylinder with integrated temporary propping system to lower a station platform approx -150mm to -285mm at different locations requirement to re-align and level the platform support beams.

Hydra Capsule worked used our purpose-built synchronised lifting / lowering system to accommodate three different jacking operations for re-aligning defined locations throughout the stations' platform using precise load and movement monitoring accurate to +/- 1 kNs and +/- 0.25mm respectively.

The works involved pre-loading the complete station platform using temporary propping to extending long-stroke cylinders (300mm / 12 inches) to lift the 25 to 30 metres plaform. Once achievd, all the concrete support walls and piers were removed for strengthening and remedial works.

Once completed, Hydra Capsule re-attending to align the concrete deck and lowered to the specified levels. Due to the platform "hump" arrangment, Hydra Capsule were able to adjust applicable jacks singley, in pairs / sets to level and lower the deck within +/- 1.00mm accuracy.

WRAYSBURY - RIVER THAMES, STAINES - HOUSE JACKING AND LIFTED +1.50 METRES

1st October 2014

Hydra Capsule have successfully lifted an entire house up by +1.50 metres to avoid any further flooding in Wraysbury on the River Thames.

Hydra Capsule worked closely with the consultant engineers' to ensure that the jacking system and support steelwork craddle would accommodate the anticipated lift. The systems consisted of 28 x 50 tonnes long stroke cylinder with a mechanical locking collars device, with a temporary support stool arrangement.

The works involved pre-loading a defined jacking force into steel-girder framework to ensure the house support walls could be diamond-cut prior to the lifting operation. The works were successfully completed in 5 lifting days to the defined height.

STOCKLEY JUNCTION VIADUCT FLYOVER - HYDRAULIC JACKS FOR TEMPORARY PROPPING AND BEARING INSTALLATION

1st September 2014

Hydra Capsule recently were approached to supply approxiately over 100 number 100 tonnes locking collar cylinders with a purprosed-built synchronised lifting/lowering and real-time monitoring system for preloading heavy duty temporary bridge propping.

The viaduct was constructed lof 1.5 km of support piers. Which required RC beams to be installed and pre-loaded to the defined specifications. Once this had been achieved, newly manufacturered bridge bearings were installed. The jacking system used its integrated monitoring system to synchronuously lower the beams and transfer the define load-paths accordingly through the applicable bearings.

In addition, Hydra Capsule equipment was also used in conjunction with the stockley junction bridge slide for assisting the guide of the superstructure while the bridge deck was slided on hydraulic skates into position.

BLOOMBERG PLACE, LONDON - PRE-LOADING OF STEELWORK AND TEMPORARY SUPPORT STRUTS

1st July 2014

Over 100 number Flat Jacks, hydraulic jacking and real-time structural monitoring equipment were commissioned for pre-loading of steelworks and temporary prop struts throughout the Bloomberg Place waling perimeter by Hydra Capsule. The works involved pre-loading a defined jacking force into steel struts individually and multiple to equal distribute the load into the temporary works steelwork.

In addition, once loaded, the struts were monitored by strain gauges to monitor the load over the duration of the construction phase. With the inclusion of our grout injection system, loads of upto 350 tonnes were achieved accurately.

ST. KATERINES DOCKS, QUAYSIDE - FLAT JACKS, HYDRAULIC JACKING & TEMPORARY PROPPING (MEGA-PROP SUPPORT)

12th May 2014

Hydra-Capsule have recently completed a major project. With multi-
services provided and completed by Hydra Capsule at the Quayside Redevelopment Project. The works involved a mixture of products and services to support the complex remedial works throughout the site.

The temporary propping system was design, installed and synchronously pre-loaded and jacked for strengthening steelwork requirements. Monitoring load and movement (displacement and deflection) of high-risk and critiera structural areas throughout the works.

WIND TURBINES - HYDRAULIC JACKING & FLAT JACKS - LIFTING AND LEVELLING PROJECT

1st April 2014

Hydra-Capsule have recently completed a major repair and remedial synchronised jacking operations for 7 number wind tubines across the United Kingdom. The project involved working main contractor and consultancy engineers due to the high-risk structure(s).

Hydra Capsule were appointed to design, consult, manufacture and install 360 number hydraulic and grout flat jacks, which were jacked synchronously lifted from approx 26 to 45mm (tilt error), and levelled within 2mm across 30 to 80 number jacks at 7 number turbines (ranging from 245 tonnes to 350 tonnes). The complete system was individually and manually controlled by using precise load, movement and tilt sensor(s) monitoring system.

A14 HUNTINGDOM RAILWAY AND BRIDGE VIADUCT

3rd February 2014

Hydra-Capsule have recently completed a major synchronised jacking, and grout bags for the half joint strengthening. The project involved working with the Highway Agency and Network Rail hand-in-hand due to the unusual bridge structure(s).

Hydra Capsule were appointed to design and manufacture 84 number 50 tonnes screw ram locking-collar hydraulic jacks, which in additional were energised by Hydra Capsules’ synchronised jacking and individually controlled by our own computerised system, using precise load and movement displacement (LVDTs) real-time monitoring units.

LONDON BRIDGE STATION THAMELINK PROJECT

2nd January 2014

Hydra-Capsule have recently completed a complex grout flat jacking operation, with a jacking capability of over 1900 tonnes to  permanently support the construction openings underneath the London Bridge Thameslink Station Project.

Hydra-Capsule were appointed to design and manufacture transfusion grout flat jacks and "custom-built" grout bags (due to unfeasible access for normal grouting operation), to assist with structural strengthening works.

The original programme of the works were approximately 3 to 3 weeks, By working hand-in-hand with the contractor. Hydra Capsule short working lead-ins, enabled products and services to commence on split shift patternes to suit the project's restraints and complete the project in half the period.
